Our Practice

Pat is married to Robin Magee, a healthcare attorney, and they are the proud parents of Madison, Bailee, Aidan, and Paxton. 

Pat was born in Scott, LA and raised in between Scott and Lafayette, LA. 

Pat's parents are Edward and Helen Magee, lifelong educators and community leaders in Louisiana and Mississippi. Teaching is in Pat and his siblings, Ed and Olita’s, DNA. 

He is a proud graduate of Lafayette High School, the University of Southwestern Louisiana (University of Louisiana) and the Southern University Law Center. Pat  also served in the Louisiana National Guard and earned an Honorable Discharge as a Sergeant in the 415th Military Intelligence Battalion.

Pat began his legal career at the 15th Judicial District, District Attorney's Office as a student worker during his third year of law school. After passing the bar examination, he became a contract attorney within the Zoned Area Prosecution Program (ZAPP) located in the Clifton Chenier Center in North Lafayette. This location was integral for community outreach and served as a point of entry for members of the community to engage the District Attorney’s Office to establish rapport and dialogue. Hard work caught the attention of then DA Mike Harson, who afforded Pat an opportunity as a felony prosecutor. 

Following his tenure at the District Attorney’s office,  Pat worked at the Law Firm of Voorhies and Labbe’ specializing in Criminal Defense and General Litigation. Pat successfully defended his client’s interest in criminal matters, personal injury, family law, and business litigation. 

Attorney General Jeff Landry tapped Pat as the Director of the Criminal Division supervising two units, the General Prosecution Unit and the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit consisting of 110 employees. Pat was the first Black person to hold this esteemed position.
